The Tea Party did no such thing, Book.   First off the Tea Party has no leadership in the traditional sense, so no spokesman can make that kindof idiotic statement.

The Tea Party seemed to be a collective (I'll bet you recognize that word) of patriots that felt  that if things didn't change in terms of economic policy, specifically deficit spending,  income redistribution and government taking over the medial industry, that prosperity and the America we grew up in, would disappear.   They pointed out the unsustainability of the current economy under present policy.   That our government was headed for a debt that cannot be paid off by raising taxes, no matter how high.
That socialism is trickle up poverty and that the American dream Obama and his merry band of commie professors had in mind was making every American citizen equally wards of the State.  Forever dependent on what ever King is sitting on the throne for their small peice of the pie.  Basically, that if thats what it comes to, the pie, as we know it, would be a rather small pie. That Obamas vision was one of another bankrupt and militarily weak European socialist pipe dream, kinda like most of our ancestors came here to get away from.

I guess all that shit went right over some peoples heads.

They were elected because the majority of voters believe the same thing.

Current economic trends  seem to validate that belief.

No one in the Tea Party promised that the seas would stop rising, the clouds would disappear, temperatures would start to drop, or that we are the ones you've been waiting for.    Then flopped.
