and the talking point that rallys GOP followers behind Santorum and Romney is a polarizing debate about women's health insurance, ie birth control.
How out of touch can you be?

Really? I thought it was about the government getting in the business of the insurance companies and telling them what they must provide and whether they can even charge for it. the press is the one twisting the facts, and little minds like yours just suck it up as fact.

the fact is...the church can't mandate their own belief on their followers to not use contraception, and instead, are trying to blame the government for giving those followers access to coverage.

Sure they will. Free birth control pills (which are cheap) save insurance companies money by cutting down on expensive pregnancies. Providing free contraception coverage is a net moneymaker for insurance companies.

As recently as the 1990s, many health insurance plans didn't even cover birth control. Protests, court cases, and new state laws led to dramatic changes. Today, almost all plans cover prescription contraceptives —
with varying copays.
Medicaid, the health care program for low-income people, also covers contraceptives.

This is a fucking waste of time.....but how does that quote verify that contraceptives are free or even that the coverage that partially pays for them is free?

And today almost all plans cover hospitalizations, Doctor visits, prescriptions, and a whole host of other things.
Are those things free also?

Birth control pills are the biggest money saver in all of medicine. They cost less than nothing - they save money. The more women take them the more money saved. And the fewer abortions.
They save money and prevent abortions. Why is ANYONE having a problem with this?

OK, other than the sarcastic "affront to God" thing, let me explain it this way.
Despite the "liberals" all hailing this as a "Yay! We can have sex now and not worried about getting pregnant".. here is where I have the problem..
Someone has to pay for the manufacture and distribution of this. Now, insurance companies can no longer ask those who "use it" to pay for it through premium increases. All will now pay for it. It's not a big deal when you consider that contraception itself is viewed by many religious people as wrong. The government which is to protect religion, is essentially saying "We don't care about your religious beliefs."
Secondly, there is no health "gain" for the masses. It only helps a subset of the female population, those of child bearing years, and even then, not all women can physically take contraception. There will be some women that have to have a different and perhaps more expensive kind. While the argument that "reduced pregnancies and abortions" will make up for the cost, my argument is that view is specious. When a death row inmate's execution is being carried out, the mantra of the liberals is: "Life is precious".. the reality is, it's only precious so long as it makes sense to paint other people in a bad light.
I don't really care to have to pay, directly or indirectly, the sexual proclivities of other people WHEN THEY can make choices. She can make a choice not to have sex. She doesn't want to make that choice. Now, the government is saying, you're covered if you make an irresponsible choice.
And there is the issue.. you have now started this under the inaccurate and misleading guise of "women health"... it's not, nor has it ever been about that.
So please, don't insult my intelligence about "Oh what about women who have xxx and contraceptives do help them".. yeah, again.. a small subset of the populace, to where the health benefits are not known but extended pill use has shown to cause other problems later in life. If you really are this stupid, you're going to be pissed when all this gets undone by the Supreme Court.

I don't have a problem with it; I just have a problem with people believing they can't afford it without insurance.
And you should have added in the talking point about it curing cancer and how Republicans all want women to get cancer and die.
