They were discussing the religious freedom issue.
They were not discussing women's health. We wont' talk about the "expert" that the Dems wanted to bring on.. a college student activist...
Just thought I'd set the record straight here.

Oh yeah. "Religious" freedom. The freedom for the church to reserve the rights to power in order to tell their followers what to do with their lives....however, the government should never have that power. I mean damn you can't make this up.
This wouldn't be an issue if 100% of Christians didn't use birth control they God almighty commands.... But, they aren't
CHRISTIAN
christian, if you know what I mean.

You kinda fail at this because I think you do not understand what religion is.
I'm not a big proponent of religion but I understand its purpose in life. It's about faith and how people govern their lives. The church established a principle about contraception and the followers of that church are encouraged to follow it. If the government says, "You have to do this which goes against your principle beliefs", then that is invasion of a fundamental principle in how the government deals with religion. Now, here's something for you think about. Let's say the government decides that women need to be sterilized to reduce the number of children that may develop down syndrome and autism because it creates a burden on our health care system. What would you say to that?

and lets say all women should be burned at the stake for not being Christian?
Sure, the govt could say that..but they aren't. You'd have a case for argument if Obama just came out tomorrow and said "from now on, all women will be sterilized who were born on Tuesday...!"........and if you want to just throw out speculative questions to frame a talking point...well, we could do that all day my friend.
So here's one....
What if the church told women they could not receive health insurance for the pill even in cases where the pill is used to prevent symptoms and the spread of ovarian cancer?
Oh wait, my question was real. Sorry.
Still think its the government that is out to harm women? The Christian Right is way more ruthless and uncaring. Its proven. They do it in their actions and convictions. Just like most fundamentalists....you've mistaken an attack on religion with not getting EVERYTHING you want.

And thus demonstrates the true nature of the paradox of the liberal. The government will now tell you what you need, usurping the power of the individual to make choices both in terms of their career and their ability to choose medical care, and perhaps their own living. You travel down the slippery slope of "there ought to be a law" without ever thinking about the long term consequence of your actions. And yet, it will be the liberal that will first jump up and down about "rights" when a conservative even thinks about making a similar change. It really doesn't matter to you Book, that you come off as a complete hypocrite. You would rather the government tell you that your religious beliefs are unimportant, despite what it says in the constitution all in the name of "women's health issues." You assume that a woman who doesn't take the pill is at risk of getting ovarian cancer. I got news for you. I know women who have been on the pill and were diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Like all medical studies, it's a matter of statistical correlation and not necessarily causation. You stick with the argument of fallacy. In the end, you'll come across like any other liberal hypocrite.. uninformed, loud mouthed and completely awash in ignorance.

So the government will tell those insurance companies they have to supply contraception and abortions free of charge. What is the next step? Will they tell auto repair shops, they can no longer charge for brake pads, rotors, etc and they can't increase their prices either? Basically an insurance company can charge my company for contraception and build it into the price, but they can't for a religious organization??? The marxist is slowly stealing every liberty the people once had, one at a time, and bookcat can't see it. He's too hung up on the bullshit misdirection about religion.
